Wow has time gone by! It's been more than a month without an art update. Here is an in-progress illustration for a children's book series I'm working on:
I haven't done very many animal drawings in a while so I'm excited work on this new project (which is mostly animals) :)

Color Schemes
Trying to decide on a color scheme for the idea chosen from the sketches in my previous post.
I can't decide...I like the moody ones the best though.

Some new stuff in the works
I'm working on a couple of new commissioned and personal works, there's a bunch of fun stuff in progress. Anywho, here are some thumbnails for an illustrated scene in a sort of post-apocalyptic zombie infested desert:
Trying some different techniques in this environment sketch:
Here's another painting I hope to keep pretty spooky:

Sketching Along
Above is a new finished sketch from this set of ideas:
I actually like the first two ideas better than the last one, the middle idea the most. But my client for this commission liked the last the best, so here it is :)
More to come!

Library Drawing
Here is an update of an earlier image-
Here is the original set of idea thumbnails:
Overall I'm pretty happy with it. There are some wonky anatomical/arm issues going but I don't think it stands out too much.

Arrietty
So I recently got around to watching "Arrietty", Studio Ghibli's newest animation. I have to say, every time I watch a Ghibli movie I'm amazed at the level of detail put into each frame. This animation also has a never-ending supply of lovely, lush watercolor/painted backgrounds. I swear if I ever had a house that looks like Arrietty's I'll be set. It's also kind of cute how they call humans "human beans" (in place of beings). Though, was it like that in the other borrower movies too? I can't remember. Anywho, here are some video stills of the animation to check out :)

Art Test
Here's a chain gun wielding, steampunk-esque Donald Duck I recently illustrated-
Maybe drawing cartoons is more my thing...I also just noticed the round shells are way too thick :/

MtG Altered Art
Getting back into making some Magic the Gathering altered card art too. Here's a practice on a plains card-
I like the idea for this landscape so much I'm going to turn it into an actual illustration!
Artwork
An artwork update dump! Yes, I'm still making artwork however few and far between my posts may be :) I've been doing a bunch of commission work for people and below are some examples I can show for now. More to come!

The next two images are sort of cartoony and remind me of those "Where's Waldo?" drawings..
